Filming my Trailer i have to say wasn't easy but I managed to get all of the footage completed by my deadline, overall it roughly took 3 evenings to get all of the shots i needed. In the end I decided to film at night as when i experimented at dusk i couldn't get the spooky effect i wanted, so night-time it was. I managed to get two LED torches which provided enough light for me film and a video camera with night vision which i found didn't really help. While filming everything just pieced together and i even managed to film some shots that originally wasn't in my storyboard.Sometimes improvising can be quite risky but in my case i think it worked well, for example when the cast were making their way to our next filming location i left the camera rolling, so i go the view of everyone's backs. Doesn't sound very good but it was effective as managed to achieve the effect of someone close behind watching them.
Being that i was filming outside i wasn't able to use a tripod but this wasn't such a bad thing as it gave off a more realistic effect as it was hand held and also looked low budget. The angles and shots i used made a real difference to my filming, i was able to get close ups of the characters faces especially when they were having a debate about who should go fetch the firewood. These helped show emotions and facial expressions. Panning was also used to create suspense especially nearer the end of my trailer when the camera starts at the characters feet and pans up to their head creating tension for the death scene.
During the whole process of filming my Teaser Trailer i have learnt a lot, one thing i have learnt is to plan in advance as one of the problems i had was getting the cast together. As there were quite a few cast not everyone could film on the same day so it took a while for me to get everyone together.
