Survey Results

Here are the results of the survey we conducted amongst 20 Year 12 students (a representation of our target audience). We have chosen to display as many of the results as possible visually as graphs to make them easier to analyse ...

Question 1) "Do you Read Music Magazines? "

As you can see from this graph we concluded that most 6th form students read Music Magazines altough 8 out of 20 said no. This means that our chosen target market is potentially large.

Question 2) "What Music Magazines do you / would you read?"

  • This graph basically shows which the most popular Music Magazine on the market today. From our results we can conclude that Kerrang and Q are particularly popular although alot of other magazines have large followings.

Question 3) What do you like to see on the front cover of a Music Magazine?
Some of the answers we recieved were : Bands, Headlines ,Features of the Magazine etc.

  • From this question we can get a rough idea of what we should put on our front cover using these results.

Question 4) "What do you / would you like music magazines to contain?"

  • From looking at these results it is obvious that there are many different exspectations that people have when reading magazines. This means that we will have to include as many of these as possible in order for it to appeal to our target audience.

Question 5) "Do you prefer solo artists or bands?"

  • We can conclude from this graph that Bands are more popular than Solo Artists therefore if we feature a Band in our spread we are more likely to attract a larger audience than we would if we featured a Solo Artist.

Question 6) "Where do you most like to read Music Magazines?"

  • We recieved alot of different answers which is why we didnt display a graph for these answers as they varied.

Question 7) "How often do you buy music magazines?"

We chose to ask this question mainly because we wanted to get a rough idea of whether our survey would be valid or not by finding out exatly how often our survey audience read music magazines. We knew that if it wasnt often then we may have to repeat our survey

Question 8) "What is your favourite genre of music?"

  • We recieved a lot of answers that seemed to follow the same consumer trends; the majority said Indie, then closely followed by Rock , R&B and Pop. Then Classical with the least amount of listeners.
