Where we go from here

After all our textual analysis we will draw our research together and decide upon any decisions that need to be made together. After this will each make individual posts relating to what we hope to achieve with our own magazine articles / front covers / contents pages which we will then be developing.

Conclusions we have already drawn from the results of our earlier survey:

-Indie / rock bands were the most popular type of artists that our target audience (6th form age students) would like to read about in a typical music magazine. Generally Indie / rock groups are made up of men - rarely are women in these bands. Thus, the magazines we have analysed have favoured this genre and have been aimed more towards males than females. This is not to say that women do not read music magazines, contrarily, many do - however, we have concluded that they are interested in many different sorts of music ( R and B, Dance, pop etc), wheras men's choice seems to be more predictable.

-Stories seemed to be a popular choice from our survey question on what our audience group would most like to read in a magazine. This has been backed up by the style of the majority of articles we have read whilst researching. They have centred around journeys that bands have been through whilst putting new albums together or whilst on tour etc. Therefore we endeavour to include this style in our work.
