Ideas for Conditions & Lighting

When filming my trailer i need to take into account the conditions in which i am going to film in and the lighting i am going to need to use. Due to it being a horror trailer i am going to film at either dusk or nighttime which is going to be quite difficult as obvious at night, its dark and you can't see much so lighting is going to be a key issue. Especially we are getting closer to winter its getting darker earlier leaving me with not much time to film so i decided to capture some footage in dusk and some in night and see the difference. And i found that the footage i was able to get at dusk was just a little too light and at night a little too dark so i am going to have to get it in the middle. I am also going to get hold of a couple of bright torches and a camera which can film in night vision and see how that goes. But filming at night isn't such a bad thing with torches some things are just visible creating a spooky effect so just as long as i get good quality footage i may be able to film at night.

So conditions ... ideally i would like to be able to film on a really windy night so you get the sounds of the trees in the background blowing about and perhaps the howling of the wind creating an eerie effect. But other conditions i can consider are maybe rainy, this would be good as i can focus on the sound of the rain and use water in my trailer which is a common convention used in horror movies. As I'm going to film in a woodland area i think it would be a good idea for it to be quite overgrown so you get the sounds of people walking through the woodland and the leaves or branches crackling under the characters feet. And the outline of the trees create an illusion and could look as though it is another person standing there, scaring the audience.
