Time for Editing !!

To start off with i copied all of the footage i have recorded off of the video camera onto one of the Apple Macs so i can now use iMovie to edit what I've recorded. Once I had all of my clips on the computer I thought it would be logical to use my storyboard to piece all of them together. I used the cut tool to get the right shots that i needed so that i could then delete the ones which i don't want to use. I realised now that id need to cut it down a little bit more as it was just under two minutes which is too long for a Teaser Trailer.

While editing on iMovie i was also able to add different transitions and effects to my Trailer. One of the transitions i used the most was Fade in from Black not because this is what is normally used in Trailers but it is also a smooth transition and is good to use when introducing another scene. On two of my clips I have decided to use the Slow Motion effect because it slows down the action and goes well with the music I have produced for my Trailer. For that I used Garage Band as planned mainly because it was difficult to find a decent piece of music which goes well with my Trailer. I found that using this software was quite straightforward and easy to use.

Moving onto the text I used, I decided that a Red font would be good to use, one of the reasons is because I didn't include blood in my film as i didn't want to give too much away so as an audience you're not completely sure if the characters are dead or alive but the colour Red tends to represent blood. This colour font is a common convention used in horror movie trailers. To go with this colour i chose a suitable font, which was quite neat and tidy but had a sort of eerie effect to it.
