Layout Plan for My Magazine Cover

So before i do anything i think it would be a good idea to plan out the layout for my magazine cover. Having looked at other Magazine covers from previous film magazines i have come up with a basic plan for my own, using ideas and key elements from others. To start obviously the Magazine cover is going to need a title which is normally aligned at the top of the page and occasionally with an image overlapping slightly. This image usually consists of the main character of the movie or someone who has played a significant role. I am aiming to have this image quite large taking up most of the free space and centred. The over this image we normally see a title in large normally stating the movie title and a tag line. Occasionally around the image it is blank but in most of the magazine covers i have analysed there are various titles, quotes and words giving the audience a preview of what else they can find inside the magazine.

Then either right at the top of the page or right at the bottom there is a barcode with the retail price letting the audience know the cost and the code simply for shop use. I am planning to create my own for my magazine to make it look professional and realistic. Also to help promote the magazine and entice readers to find out more online there is nowdays a website address at the top of the page of at the bottom, along with issue number and date. Something else i noticed is the price is diplayed in more than one currency suggesting it is sold world wide normally including dollars, sterling and euros.
